What Is Image And Why Is It
So Important?

Image is how you visually represent yourself to the rest of the world. Your image creates a message that you communicate to everyone, without ever saying a word. It has to do with the clothes you wear, the way you enter a room, how you stand, your facial expressions and so much more. Each of us already has an Image that is communicating a message, whether you realize it or not.

Your image goes a long way toward determining how you will be treated by everyone else in the world. This is one of the reasons your image is so important, because it's intimately connected to your success in life both professionally and personally.

It's imperative your image communicates the right message because people make assumptions about your intelligence, character, reliability and expertise within the first 5 seconds of meeting you. In those brief moments you are evaluated based on your visual appearance, behavior and communication skills. Fifty eight percent of the evaluation is based on your clothes and grooming, 37% on your behavior and body language and only 8% on what you actually say.

A good first impression will encourage people to interact with you favorably but little you say or do will help you quickly recover from a bad first impression.

It may take as many as 30 positive encounters with someone just to overcome a negative first impression.This may add up to lost business or lost affection in a personal relationship.

The big question is: What message is your image communicating
and will that image help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
